Food: Rolls and Rolls of Love and Protection
“Whatever satisfies your soul is truth” — Walt Whitman
Imagine all the food you ever ate talking to you. What would it say? What would the gourmet pizza say? What would the jambalaya your drunk relative cooked say? What was put in your food besides fire, water, salt, and pepper? A soul-focused diet. What does that look like? Who’s making the pizza dough?
What were you thinking when you ate the bacon and eggs? What was your body saying? What is food anyway? Odd how teeth rip it to shreds, no? Digestion starts in the mouth. Sounds so primitive, but aren’t we all starring in the kid movie The Croods?
The 2nd house of Taurus
Taurusland is Venus’s terrain. It’s a wild mansion made out of candy, the sweet and unsweet kind. Some of it is natural and some of it is not. I just can’t write enough about this second house in Astrology. There’s more going on there than most people talk about. There’s more beneath our belt buckle too, beneath the pants that cover our secret stomachs. Our stomachs have been through a lot. All the acid we have ever absorbed landed here—churning and driving down our intestines fighting bacteria—seatbelts not on.
The body is taking in every drama annd every trauma we live through. She needs us to love her, nourish her, talk to her, listen to her, and guide her. She needs a kind boss, not a nasty one. She can read your mind and your tone.
When you go out to dinner….
You didn’t meet the chef. You don’t know what kind of vibration he or she put in your plate. Was it, “I hate this restaurant. I hate my partner.”? It may be “I love making food for people. I’m channeling my amazing grandmother from Peru who taught me to cook.” All a crapshoot, no? We dive into this life hoping for the best. The more conscious we are, the better things can be.
Astrology on Ice
Natal Saturn or Pluto or the North Node(Rahu) in the 2nd house.
Here are some of the things I’ve heard of all clients say:
“I’m terrified of playing by the rules when it comes to making money.”
“I hate being bossed around in systems/organizations, someone up my ass”.
“I don’t want to make one mistake.”
“I feel stuck, anxious, and trapped, wings taped down about my work.”
“I learned through bad things happening how to grow up about money.”
“Being bulimic taught me a lot about all things money and health.”
“Saturn was my teacher with this placement.”
“I drank my way through Saturn and had my gallbladder removed at 25.”
“I married a much older man for his money and hated my life. Power to me is all. I moved to Maui and got a job and I’m much better off now.”
How to be less miserable in two easy steps despite your Saturn, your Pluto, your Mickey or your Nodes….
Words from a retired teacher mentor (her age: 74)
“Be less miz. Hook up with people not miz. And wash your hands.”
